Every Monday, we’ll bring you five key storylines borne out by PFF's grades and data. Here’s what stood out in Week 9.
QB Joe Burrow, Cincinnati Bengals
PFF Grade: 91.1
Burrow is back, and he proved it with another impressive showing as the Bengals took down the Buffalo Bills on Sunday Night Football. He went 31-of-44 for 348 yards, with his four big-time throws tied for the second most at the position this week. He didn’t make any turnover-worthy plays. Burrow finished 7-of-11 for 126 yards on throws targeted 10-plus yards downfield, including one of his touchdown passes.
QB C.J. Stroud, Houston Texans
PFF Grade: 91.1
Putting the NFL on notice in a record-setting performance, Stroud led the Texans to an improbable comeback win against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. On 10-plus-yard throws alone, he went 15-of-22 for 339 yards and four touchdown passes. His four big-time throws were tied for second among quarterbacks this week, though he did have two turnover-worthy plays that lowered his grade.
CB Kenny Moore II, Indianapolis Colts
PFF Grade: 93.2
Moore allowed four receptions for 21 yards and earned one of the highest single-game coverage grades in the NFL this season. That is what happens when you return two interceptions for touchdowns, but Moore also finished the game with three tackles resulting in defensive stops, capping an impressive game from the slot for the Colts in a win over the Carolina Panthers.
CB Emmanuel Forbes, Washington Commanders
PFF Grade: 91.3
The Commanders' first-round rookie struggled early on in his first season and played just five snaps in each of the previous two weeks. He delivered the best performance of his young career this week across 36 coverage snaps, allowing just two receptions for 12 yards from seven targets, with four forced incompletions. Forbes was known for his ability to make plays on the ball in college, so the Commanders should be thrilled to see that translate to the NFL midway through his rookie campaign.
CB Paulson Adebo, New Orleans Saints
PFF Grade: 92.9
One of the most underrated players in the NFL this season, Adebo had another strong performance in the Saints' win over the Chicago Bears. The 2021 third-round pick out of Stanford was on the field for 39 coverage snaps on Sunday. While he did allow five receptions for 66 yards in coverage, he also notched a pair of interceptions and a forced incompletion.
