NFL Week 9 Game Recap: Minnesota Vikings 31, Atlanta Falcons 28

A near-miraculous finish gave the Minnesota Vikings a shock comeback win against the Atlanta Falcons on the road in Week 9.

Offensive spotlight: After looking solid in early action, rookie quarterback Jaren Hall was knocked out of the game when his head hit the turf as he attempted to score a rushing touchdown.

That put Joshua Dobbs into the game after being acquired by the Vikings at the trade deadline earlier in the week. Dobbs had a nightmare start, being sacked for a safety on his first third down and turning the ball over twice on fumbles, but he refused to let that be the whole story and fought his way back with several huge scrambles. Dobbs ended up with 66 rushing yards (and a score) and 158 passing yards with two passing scores, including the late game-winner.

Defensive spotlight: Cornerback Byron Murphy Jr. has had a rough season for the Vikings after arriving in free agency, but he had a much better performance this week. Murphy was thrown at seven times but allowed just two catches for 23 yards, only one of which went for a first down. He also recorded an interception and a pass breakup.

Rookie spotlight: Bijan Robinson played 42 snaps, and though he totaled 13 touches between carries and catches, he was conspicuously absent in some key situations in the game. On the ground, he averaged 4.7 yards per attempt, 3.7 of which came after contact, but he lost a fumble. As a receiver, he caught two passes for 8 yards, the biggest of which came on the final desperate drive with the Vikings playing prevent defense.
