NFL Week 9 Game Recap: Green Bay Packers 20, Los Angeles Rams 3

The Green Bay Packers delivered a home win against the Matthew Stafford-less Los Angeles Rams team that struggled to get much going without its Super Bowl-winning quarterback.

Offensive spotlight: The Packers offense had its share of struggles throughout the early part of this game, but Jordan Love and company managed to get things under control in the second half and put this game out of reach.

Love finished 19-of-25 for 224 yards, with Luke Musgrave leading the way with his 51 receiving yards and first career touchdown. Aaron Jones was more involved in the offense this week, as well, carrying the ball 20 times to deliver 73 rushing yards and a touchdown. 

In the absence of Matthew Stafford, Brett Rypien started at quarterback for the Rams, but he was unable to get much going offensively, going just 13-for-28 through the air for just 130 total yards. He also threw an interception and fumbled twice, one of which was lost to the Green Bay defense. Cooper Kupp was targeted seven times but was able to come up with only two catches for 48 yards.

Defensive spotlight: The Packers defense managed only one sack despite the advantage against the Rams' offensive line. However, they limited Los Angeles to just a 46.4% completion rate through the air and 68 total yards rushing the ball. They did this even though Quay Walker, Rudy Ford, Darnell Savage and Kenny Clark all left the game due to injury.

Rookie spotlight: Anthony Johnson Jr., a seventh-round pick out of Iowa State, got the first start of his career with Rudy Ford out of the lineup in this game. Johnson delivered with a clutch interception in the fourth quarter, which put the Packers in place to deliver a field goal and make this a two-possession game and all but seal the win.
