NFL Week 8 Game Recap: Denver Broncos 24, Kansas City Chiefs 9

The Denver Broncos snapped a 16-game losing streak against the Kansas City Chiefs, coming away with a 24-9 victory at home in Week 8.

Offensive spotlight: Patrick Mahomes — reportedly playing through the flu — was notably off in the game. He had multiple poor plays, and even though his receivers also let him down, he wasn’t at his usual level. Mahomes averaged just 6.2 yards per attempt and was sacked three times. It marks the first road division loss of his NFL career.

Defensive spotlight: Denver’s pass rush was a factor all game, with several Broncos players timing big plays for the right time. Baron Browning was perhaps the team's best pass-rusher, racking up four pressures, pending review. Zach Allen and Nik Bonitto also each tallied multiple pressures at key times to keep Mahomes out of sync in the pocket.

Rookie spotlight: Chiefs wideout Rashee Rice continues to try and force his way into a bigger role for the Chiefs. He had five targets and four catches, with a nice run-after-the-catch play contributing 39 yards to his total of 56. Unfortunately, his incompletion was a dropped pass that could have resulted in another significant gain.
