In a game between the top two picks of the 2023 NFL Draft, quarterback Bryce Young and the Carolina Panthers picked up their first win of the season over quarterback C.J. Stroud and the Houston Texans, 15-13.

Young finished 22-of-33 with 235 passing yards and one passing touchdown. He made four big-time throws and just one turnover-worthy play on first review.

He finished the game with a game-high 12 total tackles, two tackles for loss, two passes defended and a sack.
Rookie spotlight: Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud started strong, but he and the rest of the Texans' offense cooled down and ultimately found themselves behind on the scoreboard when the game was done. This was his best throw on the day.

Stroud finished 16-of-24 with 140 passing yards, 13 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown.
