NFL Week 6 Game Recap: Cleveland Browns 19, San Francisco 49ers 17

After a wild ending, the Cleveland Browns handed the San Francisco 49ers their first loss of the season and came away with a 19-17 victory.

Offensive spotlight: This was one of the worst performances of Brock Purdy’s career. He missed several open throws and made multiple turnover-worthy plays. Even on the final drive to try and pull the game out of the fire, Purdy began with a very risky pass behind his receiver and then badly missed a shot to Brandon Aiyuk before making a few plays to put the team into field goal range.

Defensive spotlight: Myles Garrett may have had a highlight-reel play where he tossed aside Trent Williams, but he was largely held in check by Williams overall. Instead, it was Dalvin Tomlinson up the middle who was making the biggest impact for the Browns' defensive line. Tomlinson had a sequence of plays in rapid succession where he was in the backfield and finished with a near-16% pass-rush win rate.

Rookie spotlight: The only rookie to play more than two snaps for either side was Browns right tackle Dawand Jones, who continued his solid efforts as a starter after being forced into the lineup earlier in the season. He had one of his better performances as a run-blocker and was extremely good as a pass-protector, especially given the level of competition, though he was given help throughout the day.
