It’s as difficult to bring down Cordarrelle Patterson’s mood as it is to tackle him in the open field right now, but the Atlanta Falcons running back is ticked off after a recent phone call.
Patterson doesn’t care to spell out the exact details, but it was the NFL or NFLPA informing him that he is being fined for another uniform violation. His knees were showing, or his socks or cleats were the wrong color. The ninth-year pro thought he had fixed the issue, but more money is coming out of his next paycheck — and he’s not exactly psyched about it.

But he wasn’t angry for long because too much is going right in his life, and he was back to spouting positivity in no time. The Falcons have won two of their last three games, and he’s in the midst of a career year at the ripe old age of 30, which isn’t usually supposed to happen in the NFL.
“Whoever said that?” Patterson asked during a video call with PFF on Tuesday.
He has a pretty simple explanation for his sudden superstardom while manning his relatively new position.
“Honestly, the love for the game,” Patterson said. “I just love it so much. I’m so passionate about it. You can ask my family, my teammates, coaches, anybody. I don’t care where you line me up, I’m going to go out there, and I swear I’m going to give you my all.”
