NFL Week 5 Game Recap: Philadelphia Eagles 23, Los Angeles Rams 14

The Philadelphia Eagles traveled to Los Angeles, where they continued their hot start to the season and remained undefeated (5-0) with a strong win against the Los Angeles Rams.

Offensive spotlight: Cooper Kupp returned to the Rams’ lineup and immediately went back to being Matthew Stafford’s favorite target, leading the team with 12 total targets that led to eight receptions for 118 yards. Kupp’s return didn’t keep Puka Nacua from being a key piece of the offense, as he added 11 targets that went for seven receptions for 71 yards and a touchdown.

The Eagles offense got the job done thanks to A.J. Brown (127) and Dallas Goedert (117), as both went over the century mark in receiving yards. Jalen Hurts threw for 303 yards with one touchdown and a patented “brotherly shove” into the end zone for a rushing touchdown as well.

Defensive spotlight: Eagles top edge rusher Haason Reddick was quiet for most of the game but came up with back-to-back sacks late in the fourth quarter to help seal the win. Reddick’s two sacks came on third and fourth down with under three minutes left in the game and didn’t give the Rams offense another chance to touch the ball.

Rams cornerback Ahkello Witherspoon came up with a highlight-reel interception covering A.J. Brown deep down the sideline and in the end zone. The interception came in the third quarter while the Eagles were up by just three and looking to extend the lead.

Rookie spotlight: Eagles rookie first-round defensive tackle Jalen Carter continued the dominant start to his NFL career with a two-sack performance. Carter’s two sacks in this game passed his current season total and brought him up to 3.5 on the year.
