NFL Week 3 Game Recap: Pittsburgh Steelers 23, Las Vegas Raiders 18

The Pittsburgh Steelers looked to have this one in the bag at the end of the third quarter, but they ended up making life hard for themselves and had to fend off a mounting Las Vegas Raiders comeback in the final quarter of play.

The Raiders closed the gap from 16 points to just 5, but the Steelers managed to hold on to win the game 23-18.

The Steelers advance to 2-1, while the Raiders fall to 1-2.

Offensive spotlight: Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams was by far the most impressive offensive player in this one. The veteran pass-catcher was targeted a whopping 20 times, and he caught all 13 of the catchable targets for 172 yards, two scores and seven first downs. Five of his receptions went for 15 or more yards, and he caught two of his four contested targets, according to PFF's first review of the game film.

Defensive spotlight: Steelers cornerback Levi Wallace snagged two interceptions on the night, the last of which put the final nail in the coffin for the Raiders. It wasn't all good for Wallace, however, as he allowed eight catches for 104 yards and two touchdowns across 13 targets in coverage.

Rookie spotlight: Second-round tight end Michael Mayer played a career-high 34 snaps on Sunday. He was targeted just once in the passing game despite running 20 routes, but he graded well as a pass-blocker on first review, keeping a perfect slate across six pass-blocking snaps.
