The Carolina Panthers secured their first win of the 2022 NFL season with a 22-14 victory over the New Orleans Saints.
Offensive spotlight: Laviska Shenault Jr. needed only two catches to put up 90 receiving yards. He took his first catch — his first reception as a member of the Panthers — 67 yards after the catch for the score, forcing one missed tackle along the way.
Defensive spotlight: Panthers second-year corner Jaycee Horn was targeted twice in coverage. He didn't allow a catch and came away with an interception, leaving Jameis Winston with a 0.0 passer rating when throwing his way.
Rookie spotlight: Saints wideout Chris Olave caught all nine of his catchable targets for 147 yards. He didn't find the end zone, but he recorded five first downs and caught two of his three contested targets.
Offensive line spotlight: The Panthers offensive line stood out today, giving up just five total pressures across 29 passing plays on first review. Austin Corbett and Pat Elflein kept perfectly clean slates in pass protection.
