NFL Week 2 Game Recap: Tampa Bay Buccaneers 27, Chicago Bears 17

In one of the most entertaining games in the Week 2 early slate, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers defeated the Chicago Bears by a score of 27-17. The Bucs move to 2-0 on the season, while the Bears drop to 0-2.

Offensive spotlight: Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans was the offensive spotlight player from this game. While quarterback Baker Mayfield also played well, going 26-for-34 with 317 passing yards, one passing touchdown and an interception, Evans had a stat-stuffing day that deserves the nod.

Evans hauled in six of his eight targets for 171 receiving yards and the touchdown.

Defensive spotlight:  Buccaneers edge defender Shaquil Barrett has to be the choice for defensive spotlight. He recorded a sack in this game and the game-winning interception with about two minutes left.

Barrett, who led the NFL in sacks in 2019 with 19.5, had two interceptions to his name in his NFL career before today’s game. The touchdown part of it, however, was the first of his career.

Rookie spotlight: Bears rookie running back Roschon Johnson led the team in rush attempts, with four for 32 rushing yards (8.0 yards per carry). He also caught one pass for 8 yards on his only target.
