NFL Week 2 Game Recap: Dallas Cowboys 30, New York Jets 10

Turnovers hamstrung the New York Jets in a game that got away from them despite a valiant defensive effort as the Dallas Cowboys eased to a 30-10 victory in Week 2.

Offensive spotlight: Zach Wilson accounted for three interceptions and Dalvin Cook fumbled the ball away — turnovers that proved costly for a Jets offense that was always likely to be behind the eight ball without Aaron Rodgers against the Dallas defense. Wilson averaged 6.3 yards per attempt and had an adjusted completion rate of just 65.2%. Over 65% of his yards came after the catch.

Defensive spotlight: Micah Parsons is going to be fighting hard to win Defensive Player of the Year in 2023, and this game only helped his resume. He was a constant threat as a pass rusher, either winning his individual matchup, taking advantage of stunts with his incredible speed or closing quickly on Zach Wilson when the quarterback tried to escape into space. He also stripped the ball away from Dalvin Cook on a run play and was ruled down by contact to save a touchdown on the play.

Rookie spotlight: Six different rookies saw snaps on offense or defense in this game, and all of them were members of the Dallas Cowboys. Tight end Luke Schoonmaker played 16 snaps and scored a touchdown on his lone target. Running back Deuce Vaughn also showed some of his customary wiggle in limited snaps, mainly as a receiver, gaining 16 yards and scoring from three catches.
