For the first time since their only Super Bowl victory in 2017, the Philadelphia Eagles will be the No. 1 seed in the NFC.
The Eagles clinched home-field advantage and a first-round bye with a 22-16 win over the New York Giants, who played mostly backups due to already clinching the No. 6 seed last week. Philadelphia finishes the season 14-3 and will play its next game in two weeks in the divisional round. Meanwhile, the Giants fall to 9-7-1 and will travel to the Minnesota Vikings in the wild-card round next week.
Offensive spotlight: A.J. Brown continues to make good on the Eagles' trade for him. The fourth-year receiver caught four of his 10 targets for 95 yards. Brown finishes the season with 2.6 yards per route run, trailing only Tyreek Hill and Justin Jefferson.
Defensive spotlight: Eagles linebacker Kyzir White was flying around the field in coverage. The former Los Angeles Charger forced two incompletions and made five coverage stops while allowing only nine yards in coverage.
Rookie spotlight: Giants safety Dane Belton had the best game of his rookie season, earning a career-high 77.6 grade on first review. The fourth-rounder from Iowa picked up his second career interception and allowed just a 20.8 passer rating when targeted.
Offensive line spotlight: PFF’s Sam Monson believes the Eagles have the best offensive line in the league, and Philadelphia only furthered that case against the Giants. The Eagles' front five didn’t allow a sack or hit and gave up just five pressures on 41 pass-blocking snaps. Left tackle Jordan Mailata dominated with an 86.8 run-blocking grade on first review.
