The Kansas City Chiefs cruised past the Las Vegas Raiders on the road Saturday, earning a dominant 31-13 victory at Allegiant Stadium.
The victory moves the Chiefs to 14-3 on the season while the loss puts the Raiders at 6-11 to finish the 2022 season. While the Chiefs will now have their sights set on winning another Lombardi Trophy, the Raiders must now turn their attention toward a tumultuous offseason that is sure to be littered with change.
Offensive spotlight: Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes put an exclamation point on his MVP case against his division, finishing 18-of-26 for 202 yards and a touchdown en route to an 85.0-plus passing grade on first review. Additionally, Mahomes was credited with one big-time throw while avoiding any turnover-worthy plays in addition to picking up 29 yards on the ground. This may not have been Mahomes' most prolific performance, but he undoubtedly showed why he most view him as the NFL's best quarterback.
Defensive spotlight: Chiefs interior defender Chris Jones put the finishing touches on arguably the best season of his outstanding NFL career, generating nine total pressures and a sack en route to an impressive 29.0% pass-rush win rate against the Raiders. Jones also had an efficient performance against the run, totaling two run stops across just nine run-defense snaps.
Raiders edge defender Maxx Crosby played with full effort throughout the dame despite the blow, posting five total pressures and a sack en route to a 20.0% pass-rush win rate to cap his excellent season.
Rookie spotlight: Chiefs rookie running back Isiah Pacheco was the games leading rusher, finishing with 64 yards —44 of which came after contact — two first downs and a touchdown from only eight carries.
Raiders rookie guard Dylan Parham performed well despite the loss, especially in pass protection. Going against excellent competition, Parham allowed just three pressures across 45 pass-blocking snaps.
Offensive line spotlight: Chiefs guards Joe Thuney and Trey Smith excelled in pass protection against Las Vegas, as neither allowed a pressure or lost a rep across 31 pass-blocking snaps. For the season, both put together career-best marks in terms of pass-rush grade and pressures allowed.
