The Kansas City Chiefs survived a tough fight from the Denver Broncos to secure a 27-24 win and keep themselves in position to grab the No. 1 seed in the AFC should Buffalo slip up.
Offensive spotlight: Travis Kelce is the biggest focus of the Kansas City offense, but Kadarius Toney led the team with 71 receiving yards this week, catching all four targets sent his way. Toney averaged 4.7 yards per route run and had two explosive plays.
Defensive spotlight: Denver managed to almost eliminate Chris Jones as a factor in this game. Jones played 30 pass-rushing snaps and notched a pass-rush win rate of just 6.7%. Jones is typically one of the most dominant linemen in the league, so that’s a big win for the Broncos offense.
Rookie spotlight: Chiefs cornerback Trent McDuffie had another excellent game. He allowed just four catches for 28 yards and produced a critical strip-sack on a blitz, as well.
Offensive line spotlight: None of the starting linemen in this game on either side of the ball has been charged with a sack. Backup Quinn Bailey, forced into the lineup at left guard for the Broncos during the game, is the only lineman charged with a sack pending grade review.
