NFL Week 17 Game Recap: Indianapolis Colts 23, Las Vegas Raiders 20

The Indianapolis Colts survived a late comeback by the Las Vegas Raiders to emerge with a 23-20 victory at home in Week 17.

Offensive spotlight: Davante Adams had his biggest game in a while, catching 13 passes for 126 yards and two touchdowns on a massive 21 targets. Adams more than doubled the total of targets, catches, yards and touchdowns of the next-best Raiders player, and his late score was an excellent grab to hold on through tight coverage and significant contact.

Defensive spotlight: The Colts' defensive line has been one of the most underreported stories of the season, and DeForest Buckner, in particular, was a star performer in this game. Buckner finished with one sack and, pending grade review, generated a 25% pass-rush win rate. He was far from alone, as the rest of the defensive line was able to affect Aidan O’Connell throughout the game.

Rookie spotlight: Speaking of Aidan O’Connell, the rookie signal-caller had one of his better performances in a losing effort. He passed for 299 yards and two touchdowns, at an average of 6.4 yards per attempt. It was notable for being relatively mistake-free but, ultimately, not enough to bring the team back and get the win.
