NFL Week 16 Game Recap: New York Jets 30, Washington Commanders 28

After blowing a 27-7 lead, the New York Jets snatched victory back from the jaws of defeat with a late 54-yard field goal, beating the Washington Commanders 30-28 in Week 16. 

Offensive spotlight: Breece Hall was a game-winning player for the New York Jets and probably should have featured more, given his production. He ran the ball 20 times for 95 yards and two touchdowns but also had 12 catches from 16 targets for 96 yards through the air. Hall averaged almost 4.0 yards per attempt after contact.

Defensive spotlight: Jermaine Johnson had an outstanding game early to help the Jets jump out to a big lead before getting hurt and leaving the game briefly. When he returned, he wasn’t able to recapture the magic he had before. Johnson had multiple hits on Sam Howell that forced ill-advised plays, and he also blocked a punt.

Rookie spotlight: Washington rookie running back Chris Rodriguez Jr. took 10 carries for 58 yards, 49 of which came after contact. He moved the chains four times, breaking three tackles along the way. He also caught one pass for 7 yards and was a big part of the team’s comeback.
