The Kansas City Chiefs marched on with an efficient 24-10 win over the Seattle Seahawks, keeping pace with the Buffalo Bills at 12-3 on the year so far.
Quarterback Patrick Mahomes threw two touchdown passes and ran for another, while tight end Travis Kelce racked up 113 receiving yards in the win.
Offensive spotlight: Mahomes went 5-for-12 on throws beyond the sticks in this game, but that doesn’t tell the full story. Those five completions went for 121 yards, and he also suffered two drops from his receivers. Mahomes only rushed the ball twice in this game, but that included a three-yard score to extend the Chiefs' lead to 24-3 in the fourth quarter.
Defensive spotlight: Chris Jones had another huge game up front for the Kansas City Chiefs defense. From our first run of grading on the game, he registered a sack, three quarterback hits and five quarterback hurries — good for a 22.5% pass-rush win rate.
Rookie spotlight: Per our first pass of the game, five members of the Seattle Seahawks allowed multiple pressures in the game. Phil Haynes allowed the most with five, while Charles Cross, Damien Lewis, Abraham Lucas and Stone Forsyth allowed two each. By comparison, no player on the Chiefs offensive line allowed multiple pressures and two starters, guard Joe Thuney and Orlando Brown Jr. didn’t allow any.
Offensive line spotlight: Seahawks’ rookie running back Kenneth Walker III has dealt with injuries lately but put together a solid performance in the loss. He rushed for 107 yards on 26 carries, with 70 of those yards coming after contact. He rushed for six first downs and forced four missed tackles on the day.
