Colt McCoy outdueled John Wolford in the battle of the backup quarterbacks, and the Arizona Cardinals emerged victorious over the Los Angeles Rams by a score of 27-17.
With the win, the Cardinals snap a two-game skid and improve to 4-6 on the season. Meanwhile, the defending champions are amid a Super Bowl hangover, having lost their third straight to fall to 3-6 on the season.
Offensive spotlight: Colt McCoy performed admirably in relief of Kyler Murray, who was nursing a hamstring injury. The 13th-year quarterback earned an 83.5 grade on first review. The former Texas great also tossed two big-time throws and had no turnover-worthy plays in the win.
Defensive spotlight: Cardinals cornerback Antonio Hamilton had a career game against the Rams. He forced two incompletions and allowed only 22 yards on nine targets. He also impressed as a run defender, producing two stops.
Rookie spotlight: Myjai Sanders had the best game of his rookie season on Sunday. The third-rounder finished with a 75.8 grade on first review, which would be over 10 points higher than any other of his games so far. He picked up the second sack of his career against the Rams and notched a tackle for loss and three stops on only four run-defense snaps.
Offensive line spotlight: The Cardinals offensive line held up very well against Aaron Donald and Co.
On 40 pass-blocking snaps, Arizona only allowed six pressures. Right tackle Kelvin Beachum was particularly impressive, with a clean sheet on 40 pass-blocking snaps.
