NFL Week 1 Game Recap: Dallas Cowboys 40, New York Giants 0

The Dallas Cowboys got off to a dream start to their 2023 campaign, blowing out the divisional-rival New York Giants in their season opener.

Offensive spotlight: It was a rough night for Giants quarterback Daniel Jones, who completed just 15 of his 28 pass attempts for 104 scoreless yards. Both of his turnover-worthy plays resulted in interceptions, and he took seven sacks on the night.

Defensive spotlight: The Cowboys' defensive line wreaked havoc all night long, as six different players finished with four or more pressures, according to PFF's first review of the game film. Edge defender Dorance Armstrong was the standout, producing two sacks and six hurries from 16 pass-rush snaps. 

Rookie spotlight: Things could have gone a lot worse for Giants rookie cornerbacks Tre Hawkins III and Deonte Banks, which is a positive of sorts for a team that should be reeling after tonight's performance. Banks was targeted twice but didn't allow a catch, and he even forced an incompletion. Hawkins allowed a catch on his only target, which went for 19 yards.
