OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF PRESEASON: WR IHMIR SMITH-MARSETTE, KANSAS CITY CHIEFS
Smith-Marsette had a phenomenal preseason for the Chiefs, finishing second in the league with 195 receiving yards across three preseason games this August. Coming on 45 receiving snaps, he averaged 4.33 yards per route run.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF PRESEASON: S TYCEN ANDERSON, CINCINNATI BENGALS
Anderson finished the preseason with a 91.7 PFF coverage grade, primarily driven by his performance in the Bengals' opener. He recorded two interceptions against the Packers in that first contest — one of which he returned for a touchdown.
ROOKIE OF PRESEASON: EDGE NICK HERBIG, PITTSBURGH STEELERS
A fourth-round draft pick who many thought would need to kick inside and become an off-ball linebacker at the next level, Nick Herbig impressed at edge defender this preseason. On the field for 44 pass-rushing snaps, he registered six pressures, including four sacks.
OFFENSIVE LINE OF PRESEASON: CHICAGO BEARS
Of the 23 pressures allowed by the Bears this preseason, just three resulted in a hit or a sack of the quarterback. They had multiple standouts on the line, but none more so than Larry Borom, who earned a 96.2 PFF run-blocking grade.
