Every Monday, we’ll bring you five key storylines borne out by PFF's grades and data. Here’s what stood out from the AFC and NFC conference championship games of the 2023-24 NFL playoffs.
TE Travis Kelce, Kansas City Chiefs
PFF Grade: 85.7
When Patrick Mahomes needed a completion early in the AFC championship game, he looked to Kelce. The star tight end finished the contest with 11 receptions for 116 yards and a touchdown from 11 targets. On the field for 39 receiving snaps, he recorded a 2.97 yards per route run average.
S Kyle Hamilton, Baltimore Ravens
PFF Grade: 77.7
The season came to an end for the Baltimore Ravens, but the future looks bright for All-Pro safety Kyle Hamilton. He was the standout player for a Ravens defense that largely shut down the Chiefs’ offense after a fast start. Hamilton finished the game with five tackles resulting in a defensive stop, including a tackle for no gain on a fourth down in the first half.
EDGE Nick Bosa, San Francisco 49ers
PFF Grade: 80.2
Bosa had a huge game, finishing with eight total pressures — including a pair of sacks on Lions’ quarterback Jared Goff. He played 42 pass-rushing snaps and turned that workload into a 19.0% pressure rate and a 16.7% pass-rush win rate.
TE Sam LaPorta, Detroit Lions
PFF Grade: 75.3
It once looked as though LaPorta wouldn’t feature much in the postseason after a late-season injury, but the rookie tight end completed his first season in the league on a high. He posted a 2.69 yards per route run average after picking up 97 yards on nine receptions across 36 receiving snaps.
