The deadline for NFL players to opt-out of the 2020 season due to concerns surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic has now passed. Under the agreement made between the NFL and NFLPA, all players had to choose whether to opt-out of the 2020 NFL season by the Aug. 6 deadline.
Players considered high risk for COVID-19 who chose to opt-out of the 2020 NFL season can earn $350K and an accrued NFL season, per ESPN. Players without risk can earn $150K if they chose to opt-out.
