The Philadelphia Eagles secured a comeback win against the NFC East rival New York Giants to move to a dismal 2-4-1 record which, at least for the moment, puts them in first place in the division.
Given how injuries have severely impacted the Eagles so far this season, and the disastrous state of the division, they now become the team to beat and the most likely of the four to pull themselves together and mount some kind of coherent stretch of play over the remaining weeks of the season en route to hosting a playoff game come January.
The biggest thing in determining Philadelphia’s fortunes was always quarterback Carson Wentz‘s play. He was a trainwreck over the first few games of the season — the single biggest thing contributing to Philadelphia losing games. He looked like a golfer with the yips, at times completely unable to throw the ball to his intended receiver and put it in any kind of catchable spot. He didn’t generate a PFF grade above 57.0 over the first three games of the season.
