LOS ANGELES RAMS 13, DALLAS COWBOYS 12
Cowboys T Tyler Guyton
Dallas’ first-round pick played 21 snaps at left tackle in his first action in the NFL, earning an 80.7 PFF overall grade in the process. He didn’t allow any pressures from 13 pass-blocking snaps and produced a 78.6 PFF run-blocking grade across eight such snaps.

DENVER BRONCOS 34, INDIANAPOLIS COLTS 30
Colts EDGE Laiatu Latu
The first defensive player selected in the 2024 NFL Draft was on the field for just eight snaps in Week 1 of the preseason, but he flashed regardless. Latu earned a 70.9 PFF pass-rushing grade and made a tackle resulting in a defensive stop against the run.

NEW YORK JETS 20, WASHINGTON COMMANDERS 17
Commanders QB Jayden Daniels
The second overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft gave Commanders fans plenty to get excited about on a very limited snap count. He went 2-of-3 passing for 45 yards, with one of those completions regarded as a big-time throw, and rushed for a three-yard touchdown.

CHICAGO BEARS 33, BUFFALO BILLS 6
Bears QB Caleb Williams
Williams was everything the Bears would have been hoping for in his first action for the team. From eight dropbacks, he went 4-of-7 for 95 yards, including a big-time throw, and rushed for 13 yards on a scramble.

MINNESOTA VIKINGS 24, LAS VEGAS RAIDERS 23
Vikings QB J.J. McCarthy
McCarthy took 19 dropbacks in the Vikings’ opening preseason game and displayed more positives than concerns. He went 11-of-17 passing for 188 yards, including one big-time throw and one turnover-worthy play, earning an 84.0 PFF passing grade.

GREEN BAY PACKERS 23, CLEVELAND BROWNS 10
Packers RB Emanuel Wilson
The 2023 undrafted free agent impressed last preseason and got his 2024 campaign off to a similar start against the Browns. He forced three missed tackles from 13 carries, with 50 of his 67 rushing yards coming after contact. In all, he earned a 68.7 PFF rushing grade.

TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS 17, CINCINNATI BENGALS 14
Buccaneers C Graham Barton
Barton looked as good as advertised in the middle of the offensive line to Tampa Bay against the Bengals. He earned an 87.3 PFF run-blocking grade and an 80.1 PFF pass-blocking grade, with no pressures allowed from 11 pass-blocking snaps.

JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS 26, KANSAS CITY CHIEFS 13
Jaguars S Terrell Edmunds
Edmunds forced a pair of fumbles on his way to a 92.8 PFF grade from 25 snaps on the field. Both came in coverage, with big hits forcing the ball loose, with the second seeing him close on the receiver from 14 yards away at the point of the catch on third-and-12 with 12:20 left in the game.

TENNESSEE TITANS 17, SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS 13
Titans RB Tony Pollard
The Titans’ new running back saw four carries in his first preseason action for the team on Saturday night, racking up 35 yards and a first down. He added a pair of receptions for 11 yards as a receiver, finishing the game with a 74.3 PFF grade.

SEATTLE SEAHAWKS 16, LOS ANGELES CHARGERS 3
Seahawks G Christian Haynes
A third-round draft pick out of UConn, Haynes was solid in his first NFL action. He finished the game with a 62.8 PFF run-blocking grade but was even better in pass protection, earning a 66.1 PFF grade with one pressure allowed from 20 pass-blocking snaps.

NEW ORLEANS SAINTS 16, ARIZONA CARDINALS 14
Saints T Taliese Fuaga
The Saints’ first-round draft pick isn’t just dealing with an improved level of opposition as he enters the NFL; he’s also having to handle a switch from right to left tackle. His first action for the team will give the Saints plenty of optimism, with no pressures allowed from 10 pass-blocking snaps, helping him to a 77.2 PFF pass-blocking grade.

PHILADELPHIA EAGLES 16, BALTIMORE RAVENS 13
Ravens CB Nate Wiggins
Baltimore’s first-round draft pick made a big impact in his first NFL action, playing 41 snaps before exiting with a shoulder injury early in the second half. Targeted six times in coverage, he earned a 90.2 PFF coverage grade, allowing just two receptions for eight yards and forcing three pass breakups.

HOUSTON TEXANS 20, PITTSBURGH STEELERS 12
Steelers C Zach Frazier
The rookie center looked impressive in his debut, recording 37 snaps in total. Frazier delivered both in the run and pass games, with a 72.2 PFF run-blocking grade and a 73.0 PFF pass-blocking grade. He allowed zero pressures from 18 pass-blocking snaps.

MIAMI DOLPHINS 20, ATLANTA FALCONS 13
Falcons QB Michael Penix Jr.
We got our first look at the Falcons’ highly drafted quarterback in game action, with Penix on the field for 24 snaps against the Dolphins. He earned a 62.6 PFF passing grade from 16 dropbacks, going 9-of-16 for 104 yards and producing a big-time throw.

NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS 17, CAROLINA PANTHERS 3
Panthers G Chandler Zavala
A fourth-round draft pick in 2023, Zavala struggled across 374 snaps as a rookie, allowing 33 quarterback pressures from 249 pass-blocking snaps. He was on the field for 54 snaps against the Patriots in this game and looked much improved. He earned an 81.6 PFF run-blocking grade and a 78.1 PFF pass-blocking grade after allowing just two pressures from 37 pass-blocking snaps.

NEW YORK GIANTS 14, DETROIT LIONS 3
Giants RBs Eric Gray and Tyrone Tracy Jr.
Gray’s 48-yard touchdown scamper was the longest play of any offensive player across either Thursday night game, while his 4.60 yards per route run was the highest figure of any player to see three or more targets in the Lions-Giants contest. Tracy’s raw rushing numbers look modest, but he forced four missed tackles from just five carries, which will have Giants fans excited about his potential in this offense.
