The New Orleans Saints will be without quarterback Jameis Winston for the rest of the 2021 NFL season.
According to NFL's Network's Ian Rapoport, an MRI on Monday confirmed that the Saints quarterback suffered a torn ACL and some MCL damage in his left leg against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The injury occurred in the second quarter when Winston was dragged down from his nameplate by linebacker Devin White. The Saints quarterback stayed down for some time before leaving the field with the help of the athletic trainers.
Winston has played well since becoming the Saints' starter, throwing for 1,170 yards, 14 touchdowns and just three interceptions this season. His 74.2 overall PFF grade in 2021 is the highest of his seven-year career.
Veteran backup Trevor Siemian entered the game for Winston and helped guide the Saints to victory, completing 16-of-29 passes for 159 yards and a touchdown. It was Siemian’s first appearance in a regular-season game since 2019, when he played for the New York Jets.
