Philadelphia Eagles Acquire DE Robert Quinn From Bears
- The Eagles are trading a fourth-round pick to the Bears for Quinn.
- Quinn had a breakout year last season, posting a franchise-record 18.5 sacks. He’s taken a bit of a step back this season, recording just one sack and two quarterback hits, and his 43.8 PFF grade is a career-low mark.
- The Bears will eat most of Quinn’s remaining salary for this season, which is similar to what the Denver Broncos did last year when they traded Von Miller. Quinn’s 2023 and 2024 salaries are not guaranteed.
- Quinn will join a pass-rush unit that already includes Brandon Graham, Haason Reddick and Josh Sweat. Philadelphia’s 78.6 pass-rush grade ranks seventh in the league.
New Orleans Saints Name Andy Dalton Their Starting Quarterback
- Head coach Dennis Allen said Jameis Winston is fully healthy, but that they’re going to stick with Dalton as the starter.
- Dalton has started the past four games with Winston sidelined due to ankle and back injuries. He has gone 83-of-131 for 946 yards, seven touchdowns and four interceptions. He’s earned an 84.7 PFF grade.
- The Saints are 2-5 on the season and will host the Las Vegas Raiders this week.
Pittsburgh Steelers Designate T.J. Watt To Return From IR
- Watt, the reigning Defensive Player of the Year, tore his pec in Week 1. The injury was not deemed season-ending, and he’s been able to rehab without surgery.
- Without Watt, the Steelers have struggled to generate pressure, generating just five sacks in the six games without him. Their 58.7 pass-rushing grade and 68 total pressures during that span rank in the bottom three in the league.
- Watt is now allowed to practice with the team, and Pittsburgh will have the next 21 days to place him on the active roster.
