The Denver Broncos are hiring Green Bay Packers offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett as their next head coach, NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero first reported Thursday morning.
Hackett was scheduled to take a second interview with the Jaguars on Thursday, but Denver finalized an agreement before he could get to Jacksonville.
Hackett, 42, has spent 14 years in the NFL and has eight years of experience as an NFL offensive coordinator. He served as the Jaguars' offensive coordinator from 2016 to 2018, memorably leading the side to a 12th-place finish in expected points added (EPA) per play and an appearance in the AFC Championship Game in 2017. He's spent the last three seasons as the Packers' offensive coordinator.
