Welcome back to our weekly look at the best fantasy football values and bargain picks for Week 2 in DFS main slates.
Week 1 can be an unpredictable one on the fantasy calendar. This year was no exception — you need no more evidence than the top five receivers in Week 1 yardage being Sammy Watkins, John Ross, Michael Gallup, DeSean Jackson, and Marquise Brown. The goal today is to not overreact to one game but at the same time find some players with big point potential whose values have not caught up to them.
Quarterback
Ben Roethlisberger, Pittsburgh Steelers (vs. Seattle)
FanDuel $7,600/DraftKings $5,800
Despite 47 pass attempts on opening night in Foxboro, Roethlisberger and the Steelers passing game was far from inspiring in Week 1. Some may overreact to this putrid performance, but others will recognize opportunity and seize it. The Steelers return home to Pittsburgh for a matchup against the Seahawks and the 31st-ranked passing defense in football. Again, not to overreact, but 418 passing yards to the A.J. Green-less Bengals at home is jarring. Bank on a bounceback for Big Ben.
Running back
Josh Jacobs, Oakland Raiders (vs. Kansas City)
FanDuel $6,500/DraftKings $4,700
Jacobs was the first running back selected in the 2019 draft and did not disappoint in Week 1. He rushed 23 times for 85 yards and two touchdowns and added a 28-yard reception on his lone target. This performance earned him PFF’s sixth-highest grade among rookies in the opening week. While it’s true that Jacobs did not have an impressive yards per carry last week at 3.69, this week he faces a defense in Kansas City that allowed 5.1 YPC to Jacksonville. Jacobs is outside the top-15 in terms of price on both platforms this week, making him a great value buy.
