This week's five players to add has a theme of players returning, as some players could be returning from injured reserve (IR) or the physically unable to perform (PUP) list this week while others are simply coming off of bye weeks.

When it comes to players to trade, it’s time to start looking at the schedule for the rest of the season, as we’re a third done with the season and have a good sense of who does and doesn't have an easy schedule the rest of the way.

FIVE PLAYERS TO ADD
1. QB Matt Ryan, Atlanta Falcons
The 36-year-old was a late-round draft pick in fantasy drafts who started slow this season. He finished as one of the worst fantasy quarterbacks in Week 1 ranked 19th in two other games, which led plenty of fantasy managers to give up on him too early.
He’s played much better as of late with back-to-back top-12 finishes. In those two games, he finished with an elite PFF grade. A big part of his success has been due to his accuracy, as his 62.4% accuracy percentage ranks sixth among quarterbacks (min. 25 attempts). Calvin Ridley will be back after missing Week 5, which means we might finally see Ridley and Kyle Pitts play well together. He’s a great option for a team whose quarterback is on a bye week.
2. RB D’Ernest Johnson, Cleveland Browns
The Browns running back will likely be the most popular waiver wire pickup this week. He should definitely be picked up by teams that are in short-term need of a running back, but he’s not as good of an option as other waiver wire backs in recent weeks.
Nick Chubb missed last week with a calf injury, and with Cleveland playing on Thursday night, he might miss that game, too. Kareem Hunt is out for several weeks with a calf injury, which pushes Johnson to at least second on the depth chart — potentially first if Chubb is out.
Cleveland plays the Denver Broncos — who rank fourth in preventing fantasy points to running backs — next. After that, they play the sixth-ranked Pittsburgh Steelers.
3. RB Rashaad Penny, Seattle Seahawks
Seahawks starting running back Chris Carson was placed on injured reserve late last week, so he will miss at least two more games. He has inflammation in his neck, so there is a chance this could be a long-term issue. Alex Collins took his place for Monday Night Football and looked great, as he rushed for 101 yards on 20 carries and a touchdown. He would be the top waiver option in leagues he is still available; however, he was injured late in the game and could miss next week.
Penny could return from injured reserve this week. He won the backup job at the start of the season but only lasted one week before landing on IR. Any one of these three backs could lead Seattle’s backfield in fantasy points the rest of the season, so all three should be on rosters.
