It’s that time of the week where we need to decide who will make it into our weekly fantasy football IDP lineups and who will sit on the bench as we question our decision-making leading up to game day. I’m here to go through some of the less obvious starts and sits for Week 4 IDP leagues in an effort to make your decision-making slightly easier.
DEFENSIVE LINE
START — Josh Allen, DE, Jacksonville Jaguars (vs. CIN)
Josh Allen could potentially be in for a monster week against the Bengals' offensive line — and specifically against right tackle Bobby Hart, who leads all offensive tackles in pressures allowed (15) this season. Not to mention, Joe Burrow has been sacked and pressured more than any quarterback in the NFL over these first three weeks.
Allen has lined up on the left side of the defensive line in the Jaguars' past two games, mostly working against the opposing team’s right tackle, which is Hart for the Bengals. Jacksonville and Cincinnati met in Week 7 of Allen’s rookie season last year, and he managed four pressures and a sack on 38 snaps against Hart and this Bengals’ offensive line. With a full-time role and an extra year of experience now under his belt, Allen will look to continue his dominance against Cincinnati this coming week.
SIT — Demarcus Lawrence, DE, Dallas Cowboys (vs. CLV)
One of the bigger IDP disappointments in the early part of this year has been Cowboys (supposed) top edge rusher Demarcus Lawrence. Not only has he been out-snapped by fellow edge rushers Aldon Smith and Everson Griffen, but he hasn’t really shown anything so far this season to say that this is unwarranted.
