The first week of the NFL season is in the books, which means that our fantasy football teams are either 1-0 or 0-1. Either way, there is no reason to overreact to Week 1 results. Your team is neither too good nor a lost cause after just one game, no matter how bad it may seem. Any team that is resting on its laurels after a Week 1 victory won’t be winners for long, so remain active because we are going to go over some of the top adds in IDP leagues for Week 2 of the 2020 season.
DEFENSIVE LINE
Aldon Smith, DE, Dallas Cowboys
After having not played football since 2015, Aldon Smith stepped back onto the field under the bright lights of Sunday Night Football and put up a massive performance against the Los Angeles Rams. The Cowboys also signed Everson Griffen late this offseason, and he became somewhat of an afterthought in regard to his role on this Cowboys’ defense. It was assumed he would be designated to strictly a pass-rushing role without seeing a ton of snaps.
If Sunday night’s game told us anything, it was that the complete opposite is true. Not only did Smith lead the Cowboys' edge rushers in total pressures (3), sacks (1) and pass-rush win-rate (17.4%), but he also led them in total snaps played (54) and total tackles (10). If this Week 1 performance was any indication of what Smith can do to contribute as a fantasy-relevant IDP this season, then he will be a priority add for this week's waivers.
