The last week of the season is always a weird one for the fantasy football waiver wire. There are a few teams that could be resting their starters, and teams out of the mix may take an opportunity to get a longer look at younger plays. It’s wise to proceed with caution in all of your decisions this week, but below you’ll find some strong waiver adds who are likely to still be handing out on your wire.

Regardless of the size of your league, it’s suggested that you work your way down the list and prioritize the top players in your waiver claims for this week.

(Note: For the final week of the season, waiver wire recommendations will be for all league sizes.)

Quarterback

Jimmy Garoppolo, SF – On the heels of an upset win over the Jags, Garoppolo is a very interesting play this week against the Rams. In just over four games with the 49ers this season, Garoppolo is completing nearly 70 percent of his passes with an impressive 8.7 yards per attempt.

Patrick Mahomes, KC – The Chiefs aren’t playing for anything this week, which could result in Andy Reid resting his starters. That would place Mahomes squarely in play as a high-upside option.

Running back

Derrick Henry, TEN DeMarco Murray suffered an apparent LCL sprain in Week 16, which opens the door for Henry to assume every-down duties for the Titans this week. Henry has very real RB1 potential even in a tough matchup against the Jaguars.
