We’re back again with a look at the best waiver wire claims to make for fantasy football in IDP leagues for Week 16.
This is it! The fantasy football finals are here, and there’s nothing left to hold back for when it comes to waiver-wire pickups. It’s time to unload that FAAB, release anyone who won’t be playing for you this week and add as many options as we can for our IDP rosters because this is what we’ve been building towards all year.
Here are 11 IDP waiver-wire options for the fantasy football finals.
Defensive line
Akiem Hicks, DT, Chicago Bears
The Bears’ top interior defensive lineman was activated from IR Saturday just in time for the fantasy football playoffs and to serve as a potentially huge add for teams in need of DT help. Hicks has been a dominant player the last few years and has the ability to steal your fantasy football finals with a big performance in Week 16. Hicks can put up decent tackle numbers and take down the QB, which would be everything we are looking for in this last game of the season.
Deatrich Wise, DE, New England Patriots
Wise played a season-high 46 snaps Sunday, nearly twice as many as his previous season-high (27) set in Week 14. The Patriots are relying on Wise more in these final weeks of the season, and his numbers benefited from that Sunday against the Bengals. Although he didn’t register a sack, Wise managed to rack up 9 total tackles, a pleasant surprise for a DE. Assuming the snap counts stay the same for him, it might be a wise move to take a chance on the Patriots DE if desperate in Week 16.
