A little over a month ago, I took a look at 32 different players across the NFL as they got set to embark on training camps across the country. The goal was to feature players with the most to prove, the most room to go up/down ADP-wise, and the players involved in the most intriguing camp battles.
Today, we’re taking a look back at all 16 NFC players to see where they are now (here's the AFC). For some of these players, not much has changed. For others, the lightbulb came on or slowly dimmed out entirely. Let’s jump right in.
NFC East
Jordan Matthews, WR, Philadelphia Eagles
The key for Matthews in training camp was to figure out his exact role within Doug Pederson’s new offense. Sure, Matthews put up some gaudy stats during losing games in Chip Kelly’s up-tempo scheme, but Pederson’s offense likes to take the air out of the ball. And entering camp, all we heard about was Matthews’ inability to make the transition to outside wide receiver. We still don’t have any clarity with Matthews, because a knee injury sidelined him for most of camp, but it’s not like any other wide receiver has emerged behind him. Without any camp or preseason buzz, Matthews’ ADP has plummeted. At his early-April third-round ADP, Matthews was the easiest player to pass on. But at his current ADP of 7.09, he might be a target hog and a sneaky value.
