A player's injury status can have a significant effect on fantasy football and DFS — it can alter draft strategy, roster construction and, most importantly, it can determine start-or-sit decisions.
Each week, I will comb through the official injury reports for each game and give updates and analysis for fantasy-relevant players. Injuries are fluid, so make sure to stay up to date by following @mario_pilato on Twitter.
KANSAS CITY CHIEFS
Player | Pos | PFF grade | Consensus Rank | Injury | Status |
Demarcus Robinson | WR | 62.9 | N/A | COVID-19 | Reserve/COVID-19 |
Eric Fisher | T | 80.0 | N/A | Achilles | Out |
Le’Veon Bell | RB | 73.9 | RB5 | Knee | (-) |

Sammy Watkins | WR | 64.4 | WR4 | Calf | Questionable |
Willie Gay Jr. | LB | 68.1 | N/A | Knee | Out |
Mario’s take: Robinson has been placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list but did not test positive. He was exposed to the virus through a barber and has a chance to play on Sunday.
Left tackle Eric Fisher tore his Achilles in the AFC championship game and will miss Super Bowl 55. Right tackle Michell Schwartz is dealing with a back injury and has been on IR; I am not optimistic he returns for the Super Bowl.
Bell and Watkins were limited at practice on Wednesday and Thursday, but full participants Friday. I expect them to play in Super Bowl 55.
Linebacker Willie Gay Jr. underwent surgery on his meniscus. He will miss the Super Bowl.
