As we do every July during the run-up to NFL training camp, we are taking a spin around the league to ask and answer a pressing fantasy question for each team. Finishing up the northern divisions, we move to the NFC, upon whom the schedule-making Gods bestowed the AFC North and NFC South. Roughly half of those intra-divisional defenses project to be strong, but it’s mitigated by mostly weak inter-division defenses. The Vikings come out ahead, since they don’t have to face their own defense twice.

Is rushing title contender Jordan Howard more likely to outperform or not live up to his draft cost?
They say you can’t win your fantasy draft in the first couple rounds, but you can lose it. They also say Howard is a prime candidate to lead the league in rushing this season. They say a lot of things. Ezekiel Elliott is apparently set to be suspended for anywhere from one game, to some crazy number Twitter told us. He was the only one who outrushed Howard last year, by 318 yards. Combine this with Howard saying he wants the rushing title and had LASIK surgery – presumably so he can better see how he’s “in the best shape of his life” – and throw it into the mid-July void of meaningful NFL news … and voila: Howard’s second-round ADP begins to look a lot more attractive.
