We’ve reached the elite teams of the 2017 fantasy football power rankings — teams Nos. 8-5. These teams are home to some of the most valuable players in fantasy football.
The rankings are based on our own 2017 player projections. The series assumes a 12-team standard league with a starting lineup of one quarterback, two running backs, two wide receivers, one tight end, and one flex position. Kickers and D/STs are not accounted for.

No. 8: Indianapolis Colts
The Colts offer fantasy owners 31.7 percent more value than the average NFL team. Andrew Luck and T.Y. Hilton headline Indianapolis’ fantasy options, but Frank Gore and Donte Moncrief also carry value. Jack Doyle and Marlon Mack carry a bit of intrigue as well.
Luck was a “disappointment” in 2016, but he still finished as the No. 4 quarterback in fantasy and averaged the third-most fantasy PPG. He’s a bona fide QB1 in fantasy again this year.
Luck’s top target, Hilton, is also primed for a strong WR1 campaign. He finished as the No. 5 overall wideout last year after posting a 91-1448-6 line. He’ll flirt with top-five status again in 2017, and there’s no doubt he’ll be in the top 10.
Moncrief actually scored more touchdowns than Hilton last year (7), despite catching 61 fewer passes and gaining over 1,100 fewer yards. Moncrief’s value in the red zone makes him a borderline WR2, and he’ll be firmly entrenched as a weekly fantasy starter if his yardage totals even out.
Gore figures to be Indianapolis’ lead back again in 2017, and he’s one of the top “boring” choices in fantasy who could prove extremely valuable. Gore was an RB1 last year — based on volume along, mind you — and he should be at least an RB2 again this season. The rookie Mack might steal away touches, so he’s worth a flier, but this does still appear to be Gore’s backfield to lose.
