• Dorian Williams emerges as Matt Milano’s clear replacement: The Buffalo Bills seem to have settled on the two starting linebackers that they will rely on with Matt Milano landing on injured reserve.
• Nakobe Dean returns: Albeit in a part-time role, Dean’s return signals a potential end to one of the Philadelphia Eagles‘ other usable IDP fill-ins at the position.
• Blake Cashman cashes in: The Houston Texans’ linebacker corps has been a rotating door this season, but they now have PFF’s highest-graded player at the position among the starters, and he may keep that role going forward.

Week 6 Takeaways
Be sure to check out last week’s waiver wire targets here.
Waiver wire
- LB Dorian Williams, Buffalo Bills: The Bills linebackers make the waiver wire list again but with more clarity this time on who is replacing Matt Milano. Williams was the clear LB2 option next to Terrel Bernard this week, giving fantasy managers an obvious target to now add off waiver wires for the rest of the season.
- LB Sione Takitaki, Cleveland Browns: Deeper leagues can consider adding Takitaki this week, as he filled in for Antony Walker (concussion) in the second half. Takitaki even out-snapped Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah in the second half and while he wasn’t overly productive as a tackler, he could have use in Week 7 with six teams on a bye.
- LB Devin Lloyd, Jacksonville Jaguars: Lloyd returned to the Jaguars lineup after missing the two-game London trip. He immediately re-took his spot in the defense over Chad Muma, who was relegated to special teams this week. Lloyd can be added again and Muma can be safely dropped.
- LB Micah McFadden, New York Giants: McFadden has continued his great production despite not playing an every-down role. Deeper leagues could add him as a potential bye-week fill-in next week. Isaiah Simmons is not considered a threat to his playing time, despite playing 100% of defensive snaps in McFadden’s absence last week.
- LB Nakobe Dean, Philadelphia Eagles: Dean made his return off of injured reserve this week and while he didn’t play a full workload due to being eased back into action, he should continue to increase that workload in the weeks ahead.
- LB Oren Burks, San Francisco 49ers: Dre Greenlaw missed this game due to a hamstring injury, which allowed Burks to step into a full-time role and lead the team in tackles. Considering the nagging nature of hamstring injuries, Burks should be added as insurance on waiver wires this week.
- ED Bryce Huff, New York Jets: Deeper dynasty leagues could consider Huff a dynasty riser these past two weeks where he’s delivered on 2.5 sacks in two games. Huff has always had strong pass-rush metrics but played limited snaps. He has had an increase in snap share each week for the past five weeks.
- ED Anfernee Jennings, New England Patriots: Jennings was far and away the leader in snaps along the Patriots defensive line. He also tied for the team lead in snap share on the edge last week in the first game without Matt Judon. Jennings can be added purely as a volume-based play in deeper IDP leagues.
- S Jamal Adams, Seattle Seahawks: Adams truly returned this week and took back his prime IDP alignments from Julian Love. While Adams didn’t play an every-down role, he could potentially get there as the season progresses. He had positive usage in the box and even added some blitz opportunities which allowed him to land a QB hit this week.

- Point of interest: K’von Wallace had excellent IDP usage this week with 65% of his snaps coming from the box. Unfortunately, the production didn’t follow with just three tackles on the day. Wallace had not yet failed to post even below seven total tackles in any week this season because of that optimal usage, and he’s more than likely to bounce back next game so nothing to panic about here for IDP managers.

- Fool’s gold: Bud Dupree played over 70% of the available defensive snaps and landed 1.5 sacks while posting a 0% win rate and pressure rate for the second straight week. Dupree was a beneficiary of playing against Washington’s Sam Howell, who is far and away the league leader in taking sacks (34) and owns the highest pressure-to-sack conversion rate in the league as well. Dupree should not be added on waiver wires and is a deep-league option only due to his production being a product of his opponent this week.

For fantasy managers hoping to squeeze out anymore value out of Chinn, it may be best to hold him until the trade deadline (October 31st) to see if he’s moved somewhere where he’ll be a starter again, otherwise he should be dropped in most leagues if he hasn’t by now.

- Injury: Anthony Walker did not play in the second half, as he is in concussion protocol. He’ll be considered unlikely to suit up for Week 7.
- Waiver wire: Deeper leagues can consider adding Sione Takitaki this week, as he filled in for Walker in the second half. Takitaki even out-snapped Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah in the second half and while he wasn’t overly productive as a tackler, he could have use in Week 7 with six teams on a bye.

- Point of interest: Damone Clark made the waiver wire targets last week after Leighton Vander Esch’s injury was expected to make him miss time. Vander Esch is now on injured reserve and Clark could be a perfectly fine replacement on a similar LB3 level that Vander Esch was producing for IDP. Markquese Bell is a deep-league option only given the Cowboy’s tendencies to run more single-linebacker looks.

Anderson has delivered at least one QB hit in each game this season, earned a 74.8 pass-rush grade (24th among EDs) on the year and totaled 24 pressures (tied for 16th). In this game, Anderson earned a career-high 84.6 pass-rush grade and delivered eight total pressures. The sacks will come for Anderson, fantasy managers just must remain patient in leagues where he’s needed to be a starter.

- Trending down: E.J. Speed had a significant dip in snaps this week with Shaquille Leonard back in the lineup. Speed and Leonard continued their clear roles, where Leonard was the early-down linebacker while Speed played on third downs. Assuming Leonard is healthy, this would even make Speed droppable in most leagues.

- Point of interest: Nick Bolton returned to the lineup after a three-game absence but did miss one defensive drive near the end of the first quarter. This isn’t a significant concern for Bolton and his fantasy managers right now but will be something to monitor going forward because Steve Spagnuolo does have a history of creating a heavy linebacker rotation, and there’s at least the potential he isn’t a 100% player going forward.
- Trending down: Drue Tranquill came up with three tackles and a sack for a fine IDP performance but was clearly third on the linebacker depth chart with Bolton back in the lineup. Tranquill can be safely dropped in most redraft leagues.

Reid delivered five tackles, a sack, and an interception this week. Reid’s usage should move him up the ranks a bit in future weeks.

It’s more than likely that Jones was coming off the field to help counteract a lot of the issues with his knee. He will likely continue to be limited in practice this week in hopes that he can play a larger role in Week 7.

Phillips will hopefully have his workload increase over the next few games.

- Trending down: Nicholas Morrow was a perfectly fine linebacker fill-in while Dean was on injured reserve, but it appears that he’ll likely be the odd man out once this rotation returns to two clear starting linebackers. He can likely be dropped in most leagues.

- Waiver wire: Dre Greenlaw missed this game due to a hamstring injury, which allowed Oren Burks to step into a full-time role and lead the team in tackles. Considering the nagging nature of hamstring injuries, Burks should be added as insurance on waiver wires this week.

- Point of interest: Coming out of the bye week, Jordyn Brooks did not regain an every-down role in the defense, which keeps him from being a must-start in most IDP leagues. Brooks is likely to continue in a similar snap share this season so tempering expectations on production is wise.

- Waiver wire: Jamal Adams truly returned this week and took back his prime IDP alignments from Julian Love. While Adams didn’t play an every-down role, he could potentially get there as the season progresses. He had positive usage in the box and even added some blitz opportunities, which allowed him to land a QB hit this week.
- Droppable: Julian Love is clearly the odd man out among the Seahawks safeties now with Adams back and a sub-50% snap share should not keep him in fantasy lineups, or even on rosters in most leagues.

Jack Gibbens | 67.6% | 81.5% | 25.0% | 20.8% | 10 |
- Point of interest: As productive as Jack Gibbens has been, his decrease in snap share this week is somewhat concerning. He had played close to 80% of the available snaps in each of the past three games but dropped below 70% this week. The Ravens are an optimal opponent for linebacker tackles but if his snap share continues to stay in this range against non-optimal opponents, then he won’t be worth starting in most leagues.

Davis is a top-five graded defensive player on the Commanders defense this season (72.7) while Cody Barton owns one of the lowest defensive grades on the team (45.9). There is at least a chance that the team will turn to their former first-round pick at some point to lead the way considering the difference between the two.
