Fade: Kirk Cousins (PFF Consensus Rank: QB16) vs. Cleveland Browns
The No. 9 fantasy signal-caller through three weeks, Cousins has tossed multiple touchdown passes in each of Minnesota’s games while averaging a healthy 306 passing yards per contest.
Dating back to last season, Cousins has been particularly potent at U.S. Bank Stadium. In each of his last nine games in front of the home crowd, Cousins has thrown for two-plus scores and surpassed 300 passing yards five times. So why is Cousins ranked well outside of QB1 territory this week at home against the Browns?
While Cousins does have an excellent overall grade, he only ranks 31st in aDOT, and that dink-and-dunk approach could be slowed by PFF’s top-graded rookie defender Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah and a surging Cleveland Browns defense that racked up nine sacks last week.
Overall, Cleveland’s defense has the seventh-highest PFF grade, as its dominant pass rush is complemented by a secondary that boasts two top-40 cornerbacks in Greg Newsome and Troy Hill and a pair of top-35 safeties.
Target: Joe Mixon (PFF Consensus Rank: RB3) vs. Jacksonville Jaguars
