Week 14 is likely the last chance to add some depth to IDP rosters before the fantasy playoffs begin.

DEFENSIVE LINE

DI GREG GAINES, LOS ANGELES RAMS

Ever since starter Sebastian Joseph-Day was lost for the season after Week 7, Gaines has filled in admirably, and DT-required IDP leagues should take notice. Gaines has played over 80% of Los Angeles' defensive snaps in each of his past four games, finishing with over 90% in three of those games. Gaines is playing enough snaps to be productive, especially since he aligns next to Aaron Donald, who creates many opportunities for teammates due to the attention he demands on a play-by-play basis.

Not only has Gaines played enough snaps, but he has been an effective pass-rusher and run defender since Joseph-Day's injury. Gaines has contributed a sack in three of his past five games while also accumulating 19 total tackles during that stretch. If playing in a DT-required league, Gaines is well worth a roster spot, and considering the scarcity of the position, he could even start going forward.

Greg Gaines before and after becoming a starter in 2021:
Weeks Snap share Pressures Tackles Sacks
1-7 36% 10 16 0.5
8-13 88% 17 23 2
EDGE UCHENNA NWOSU, LOS ANGELES CHARGERS

Nwosu is currently playing the best stretch of football of his NFL career, earning an 82.5 overall grade (seventh among EDGEs) and an 87.7 pass-rush grade (fourth among EDGEs) since Week 10. He’s also amassed an impressive 15 pressures and three sacks in that time, which should raise more than a few eyebrows in IDP circles. Nwosu's playing time has increased since Week 10, as he starts across from Joey Bosa.

True position IDP leagues, or leagues where he will have “DL” eligibility, are the best places to take a shot on the former second-round pick, but he’s been playing well enough to roster regardless of positional designation. The Chargers have made Nwosu a starter, and he could be decent spot-start in the fantasy playoffs.

Nwosu’s splits this season:
Weeks Snap share Pressures (EDGE rank) Pass-rush grade (EDGE rank)
1-9 59% 14 (T-64th) 54.9 (T-110th)
10-13 71% 15 (7th) 87.7 (4th)
