Today we are going to make it fun, covering a few receivers that I haven’t done to this point, and for good reason. Not everyone has the chance to draft Antonio Brown, Odell Beckham Jr. or Julio Jones. But in this final head-to-head, I’m going to dissect these three receivers, and put them in order for you.
I think it’s a good way to close out what we’ve done this offseason, covering the biggest battles in ADP, figuring out which of two players you should have been taking. If you’ve missed any, they are all right here.
Below I go category by category to explain who the No. 1 wide receiver should be in 2016. And believe it or not, the answer I've arrived at is Julio Jones. Let's take a look at why:
Quarterback strength
This is an area that will likely make some people mad, because we have two long-time veterans who have Super Bowl rings, and the other guy who kinda stunk last year. But let’s do our best to look at raw data and project who does best for their wide receiver.
When comparing their yards per game, it’s clear that Ben Roethlisberger took a giant leap forward the last two years, averaging 317.5 yards per game in that span. Considering he had topped 266 yards per game just once in his previous 10 seasons, something changed for Roethlisberger.
