With the waiver wire adds for Week 8 now out of the way, we can begin to focus our efforts toward this week’s fantasy slate. It’s time to set lineups — which also means it’s time to identify the best matchups and workloads to target in Week 8.
The following players are borderline fantasy starters we can confidently fire up this week, along with those best left on benches for Week 8.
QUARTERBACKS
START: Teddy Bridgewater, Carolina Panthers
Bridgewater has had a successful debut season with his new team, and he's been solid for fantasy as well. Thus far, Teddy Two Gloves ranks as the QB18 in scoring. Luckily for Bridgewater, he gets arguably the best matchup of the week at the quarterback position opposite the lowly pass defense of the Atlanta Falcons.
The Falcons are allowing the most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks this season and already allowed a 20.8-point performance to Bridgewater in Week 5 (his second-best performance of the season).
There aren’t many sure things in fantasy football or in the NFL, but Bridgewater putting together a strong performance against this defense is a very likely outcome.
