The following are the most intriguing names available on most waiver wires among fantasy football leagues.
Quarterback
Jacksonville Jaguars QB Gardner Minshew
The moustached-legend of Minshew has no time for your tanking expectations, as he willed his Jaguars team to a Week 1 win over the Indianapolis Colts. Minshew completed 19 of 20 passes for 173 yards and three touchdowns. While it’s fair to expect some regression in the touchdown numbers, Minshew is also likely to be one of the more productive quarterbacks available in your league’s free agent pool. Minshew’s 20.8 fantasy points ranked 10th among all quarterbacks in Week 1.
Running Back
Indianapolis Colts RB Nyheim Hines
Hines is the first player to make the list due to an injury. Starter Marlon Mack suffered what appeared to be a serious injury and is likely to be ruled out for the remainder of the season. While Hines already had a role as the pass-game back in Indianapolis, Mack’s injury should absolutely open up even more work for the scat back, particularly as a rusher. Hines’ 37 snaps (54%) led the Colts' running backs and dwarfed Mack’s 11 snaps and Jonathan Taylor’s 23.
