With the fantasy football playoffs just one week away, it’s more important than ever to make the right choices when selecting our lineups. Let's take another look through the waiver wire options at the quarterback, tight end and defense/special teams positions ahead of NFL Week 13.
Quarterback
Taysom Hill, New Orleans Saints – 59% rostered
Hill may not be a legitimate long-term solution at quarterback or anybody’s definition of what a franchise quarterback is, but all he’s done is produce since being named the starter over the past two weeks. Over that time frame, Hill ranks fifth in QB scoring with 44.9 fantasy points, though most of that has come by way of his mobility and rushing ability — he’s gained 95 yards rushing and found the end zone four times as a runner.
Hill’s ability to pass has been below average at best, but it may not matter much with the Saints’ propensity to call his number near the end zone. Hill’s three rushing attempts inside the 5-yard line and seven red-zone rushing attempts are in a class of their own when compared to his counterparts at the quarterback position over the past two weeks.
