• Philadelphia Eagles RB Kenneth Gainwell has college and rookie statistics that compare favorably to the Green Bay Packers‘ Aaron Jones and Dallas Cowboys‘ Tony Pollard.
• Gainwell was targeted on nearly 25% of his routes run as a rookie, an elite number.
• Gainwell’s current RB43 ADP makes him a slight value, according to the PFF consensus fantasy rankings, with upside to take a larger share of the rushing workload.
KENNETH GAINWELL COMPS
Gainwell was a popular prospect in the draft community while filling the ambiguous role of RB4 in the 2021 class, but then he fell all the way to RB9, going in the fifth round of the NFL draft. The Memphis product wasn’t hyper-productive as a rookie but was heavily targeted in a limited role, giving him a baseline of production in PPR formats and four top-24 weekly finishes.
None of Gainwell’s comparisons would be considered league-winners in their second seasons, but Aaron Jones and Marlon Mack both finished in the top-30 at the position, each missing four games and combining for half-a-dozen top-six fantasy finishes. An impactful year for Gainwell is very much within his range of outcomes.
