DFS Guide: Week 3 advice for FanDuel tournaments

Welcome to the Week 3 FanDuel tournament guide. With two weeks of fantasy football in the books, it has become clear that placing well in GPPs this year requires a different strategy from previous years; the new flex spot (in place of kickers) is proving to make a big difference.

This piece will run through each by offering up chalk plays, contrarian plays, and stack options — all from a tournament perspective.

Quarterbacks

Chalk: Patrick Mahomes ($8,900). With 10 touchdowns through two games, Mahomes deserves to be the highest-priced quarterback on the week, but that won’t keep people away with the Chiefs playing as home favorites in a game with the highest/over under of the week.

Chalk: Jimmy Garoppolo ($7,400). Jimmy G is the quarterback opposite Mahomes. He’ll be a popular pivot from Mahomes to still have action in this game.
