What are the best FanDuel tournament and GPP strategies and players for optimal DFS lineups during the Divisional Round in the 2018 NFL season? This piece will run through each by offering up chalk plays, contrarian plays, and stack options — all from a tournament perspective.
Given that there are only two games to choose from, I’m skipping chalk plays this week and only focusing on contrarian options and contrarian stacks. You can find my favorite (chalky) plays of the weekend in my Conference Championship round DFS locks article.

Quarterbacks
Contrarian: Jared Goff ($8,000). Despite being the cheapest, Goff will likely draw the least ownership as his scoring projection is the lowest. The Saints did allow the second-most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks on the year, though, including a 391-yard, three-touchdown effort from Goff in Week 9. Goff had extreme home/road splits this year, but the Superdome was one of the rare road locations he thrived.
Consider stacking: Tom Brady ($8,400) and Julian Edelman ($7,900). Edelman will be chalky, while Brady will likely be the third-highest-owned quarterback of the four on the slate despite playing as a 3-point underdog against a team that gave up the fifth-most fantasy points to quarterbacks this year. Brady is a go-big-or-go-home play: He has three times as many three-plus-touchdown games this year (six) as two-touchdown games (two). In the other half of his games he threw for just one touchdown (except for two games with no scores).
