After a long post-Super Bowl hiatus, Week 1 of the NFL season finally arrived with a bang, providing plenty of fireworks and touchdown celebrations. Week 1 had an abundance of fantasy football points and cash games were abnormally high.
This is our Week 2 FanDuel cash game advice. It’s important to keep in mind that we aren’t aiming for a specific number of fantasy points each week. We’re just looking to beat our opponents. I’ve wasted enough time, let’s get right to the good stuff in Week 2.
Quarterbacks
I’m double-dipping with one of last week’s recommendations and going back to the well with Tyrod Taylor ($6,600). He showed last week that even in 20 mph winds he can consistently provide fantasy points. Few quarterbacks provide the rushing floor Taylor has each week. That stable source of fantasy production added 13.7 fantasy points to his bottom line after picking up 77 yards on the ground and a score. His throwing can only get better after completing a woeful 37.5 percent of his attempts, and the matchup this week should allow it. We just saw Ryan Fitzpatrick decimate this Saints defense and now it's Taylor's turn. New Orleans allowed over 400 passing yards and four passing touchdowns last week. They pressured the quarterback on just 17.6 percent of dropbacks (sixth-lowest rate), yet allowed a perfect 158.3 passer rating on those pressured snaps. The back end wasn't much better, with Marshon Lattimore allowing a perfect 4-for-4 to Mike Evans for 114 yards and a score despite shadowing him on 83 percent of his routes. Taylor in cash makes a ton of sense with this being one of the highest-scoring games of the week.
