As we head into Week 17 of the NFL season, it’s time for a look at the top cash game plays in FanDuel DFS games for fantasy football purposes.
First off, I just wanted to thank everyone who has been following this series throughout the year. It’s been a pleasure to write and I hope you were able to utilize some of these building blocks named here to form winning cash lineups and have a profitable 2018 season. Week 17 has a bit of a preseason flavor to it with keeping up on news and notes (be sure to keep yourself up to date), but let’s take an early look at what Week 17 has in store for us.
Quarterbacks
Choosing relevant quarterbacks playing for something is imperative this week. We could see the Bills continue to evaluate what they have in Josh Allen in Week 17, trying to get as much film as they can on different plays and throwing situations. His matchup with the Dolphins is one where he could look fantastic on film, with them often struggling against rushing quarterbacks this year. They allowed Allen to run for 135 yards on the ground in their previous matchup, in addition to 231 passing yards and two passing touchdowns. The Dolphins’ pass rush has converted a league-low 10% of pressures into sacks and their secondary's coverage grade ranks 31st.
The Bucs are essentially giving Jameis Winston one final audition to get that fifth-year extension before letting other teams have a shot at signing him. After two back-to-back difficult matchups on the road against Baltimore and Dallas, he returns to Tampa Bay to play the Falcons — a team he shredded for 395 passing yards and four touchdowns (32.7 FD points) in his first full start of the season. The Falcons defense this week that has allowed nine different quarterbacks to score at least 20 FD points against them. The Bucs pass at the sixth-highest clip in the NFL (63.1%) and Winston should be a safe cash option this week with a high ceiling due to fast pace.
